मान लीजिये कि समांतर श्रेणी के अभीष्ट पद a - 2d, a - d, a, a + d, a + 2d हैं
⇒ (a - 2d) (a - d) a (a + d) (a + 2d) = 2,29,635
⇒ a(a 2 - d2 ) (a 2 - 4d2 ) = 2,29,635.....(i)
अब a - 2d, a - d और a + 2d गुणोत्तर श्रेणी में हैं
⇒ (a - d)2 = a2 - 4d2
⇒ 5d2 - 2ad = 0
⇒ d(5d - 2a) = 0
⇒ 5d = 2a......(ii)
समीकरण (i) और (ii) को हल करने पर, हमें प्राप्त होता है
