The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC National Eligibility Test twice a year. It manages the UGC NET examination on behalf of the University Grants Commission. The examination evaluates the candidates from 82 different subjects. Paper III has been removed from June 2019 onwards and only Paper I and Paper II are evaluated thereafter. On successful clearance of this examination, candidates get the chance to apply for the Junior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor posts. Spanish is one of the 82 subjects and here we will talk about the UGC NET Spanish syllabus. The syllabus will help the candidates to restrict all the topics that are supposed to be covered in the examination. • Some of the important units of the UGC NET Spanish syllabus are- Grammatical Aspects, Linguistics, Methodology, and Translation, Advanced Use of the Spanish Language, and the History of Spain and Latin America.
• The UGC NET cutoff for Spanish in June 2019 was 66.67, which is comparatively higher than the cutoff in December 2018 i.e. 56.67 (for JRF & Assistant Professor).
• A total of 100 questions will be asked in the UGC NET Spanish Paper II.

UGC NET Spanish Syllabus Paper II 2025

The UGC NET syllabus for Spanish has been divided into 10 units which are further divided into sub-units. All these 10 units are equally important and candidates need to cover all topics in detail. Candidates need a sound knowledge of the UGC NET Spanish syllabus to choose the right books for preparation and thus align their preparation with that. UGC NET Spanish Paper II Exam Pattern 2025

The UGC NET Spanish examination will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. The duration of the examination is 3 hours and there will be no break between the two papers. 100 multiple-choice questions will be asked from paper II and all of them are compulsory. UGC NET Spanish Paper II Marks Distribution

50 and 100 MCQs will be asked in Paper 1 and Paper 2 respectively. All of these questions will carry a mark of 2. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded 2 marks. On choosing wrong answers, no marks will be deducted i.e. there is no negative marking. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. 

UGC NET Spanish Paper II Minimum Qualifying Marks

Candidates willing to pursue their career as JRF and/or Assistant Professor in the field of Spanish, need to achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the UGC NET Spanish examination. General candidates need to secure at least 40% marks whereas SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates need to secure at least 35% marks in both papers taken together.
