 Y.V. Reddy Committee

  •  It was learned that an internal task force was set up to review the small savings scheme after the Y V Reddy committee set up in 2001 had strongly recommended slashing administered rates on small savings.

 Rashid Jilani Committee

  •  The RBI had set up a “Working Group to Review the Internal Control and Inspection and Audit System in Banks” under the Chairmanship of Mr. Rashid Jilani.
  • The Working Group was constituted in February 1995 to review the efficiency and adequacy of internal control and inspection and audit system in banks with a view to strengthening the supervision system, both on-site and off-site, and ensuring the reliability of data.
  • Revised the method of lending in
     place of the cash credit system

 S.M Kelkar Committee

  • The Working Group on RRBs (Kelkar Committee) in 1984 recommended that small and uneconomic RRBs should be merged in the interest of economic viability.

 I.T. Vaz Committee

  •  Method of lending, the contribution of the borrower has to be 25% of the total current assets build-up instead of the working capital gap.
  • Method of lending as per the Vaz Committee will now apply to borrowers availing working capital funds beyond limits of Rs. 100 lakh or more only
