- दो टर्मिनलों के माध्यम से प्रवाहित होने वाली धारा को तीसरे टर्मिनल (गेट) पर वोल्टेज द्वारा नियंत्रित किया जाता है।
- यह एकध्रुवीय उपकरण (धारा चालन केवल या तो इलेक्ट्रॉन या छिद्र के बहुसंख्यक वाहक के एक प्रकार के कारण होता है) है।
- इसमें उच्च इनपुट प्रतिबाधा होती है।
