And for a hemisphere it is(2Ο€r2). Where, the radius is 'r'.

The ratio is: 

(2Ο€r2) / (4Ο€r2) = 1/2

Q2) A train covers a distance running at 48 km/hr for 50 mins. The speed at which the train should run to reduce the journey time to 40 mins will be- 

  1. 45 km/hr 
  2. 50 km/hr 
  3. 60 km/hr 
  4. 75 km/hr

Solution: 

Original speed = 48 km/hr 

Original time = 50 minutes = 50/60 hours = 5/6 hours 

New time = 40 minutes = 40/60 hours = 2/3 hours

Let's denote the new speed as 'v'.

Original speed = Distance / Original time 

48 = Distance / (5/6)

Distance = 48 * (5/6) 

Distance = 40 km

Now, we can find the new speed using the new distance and time: 

v = 40 km / (2/3) hours 

v = 60 km/hr

Therefore, the new speed is 60 km/hr.

Q3) A certain number of people can complete a piece of work in 55 days. Had there been 6 more people, the work could be finished in 44 days. How many people were originally working?

Solution: 

x people complete the work in 55 days. 

(x + 6) people complete the work in 44 days.

We can use the concept of man-days, where:

Work done = product of number of people and number of days.

In the first case, we have: 

x * 55 = Total work completed by 'x' people

In the second case, we have: 

(x + 6) * 44 = Total work completed by (x + 6) people

Since the total work completed in both cases is the same, we can equate the two expressions:

x * 55 = (x + 6) * 44

Solving this equation will give us the value of 'x':

55x = 44x + 264 11x = 264 x = 24

Therefore, originally, there were 24 people working on the piece of work.
