The candidates must be able to speak, read and write Odia Language and should have -
Passed Middle school with Odia as a language Subject or passed Odia language in Class VII or above from an educational institution recognized by the government or passed a test in Odia language in M.E. School Standard that is conducted by School and Mass Education Department.

Candidates to be eligible for the post should be -

A citizen of India
Of Good Character
If married should not have more than one living spouse, provided that the government, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under personal law is applicable.
Applicants who are claiming reservation under PwD category must posses the Permanent Disability Certificate.
Applicants who are claiming reservation under Ex-servicemen should furnish the Discharge Certificate or documents in support of their service rendered and undertaking to that effect.
