Himachal Pradesh Judiciary Prelims Exam Pattern 2025

In Himachal Pradesh Judiciary, Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the selection process for aspiring Civil Judges in the state judiciary. It is an objective-type exam conducted on an OMR-based system comprising three papers: Civil Law I, Civil Law II & Criminal Law

  • Paper I: Civil Law I carries 100 marks.
  • Paper II: Civil Law II carries 100 marks.
  • Paper III: Criminal Law carries 100 marks.

The duration of the Paper is 3 hours. The Prelims is a screening test and candidates must qualify to proceed to the Mains Examination. In the Prelims exam, there is no negative marking in Himachal Pradesh Judiciary for incorrect answers.
