Pure AC resistive circuit

For a purely AC resistive circuit, the voltage and current are in the same phase.

Hence, the power factor (cosϕ) is unity.

The power in an AC circuit is given by:

P = VI cosϕ = positive value

For pure resistive load, cosϕ=0

Hence, P = VI = Power in the DC circuit

Therefore, the expression for power is the same as the DC circuit.
