A project refers to a series of task that needs to be done by a group of students in order to achieve a particular goal. 

• The project method is a method that emphasizes the voluntary participation of students by working in a group to complete a specific project.

Key Points The steps of doing a project involve:

• Creating\Providing the situation:-  It is the first step of the project method where the teacher creates/provides the situation related to real-life problems to the students. The teacher gives the knowledge about the project method procedures, and steps, and uses the students.
• Selection of the project:- The students have the freedom to choose the topic/problem of their interest and ability based on daily life-related situations. The purpose of the project should be well-defined and understood by the children.
• Planning:- The children should plan out the whole project under the guidance of their teacher. The teacher should make sure that all the students actively take part in the discussion and asked them to write their plans properly.
• Executing:- It is the longest step in the project method. The teacher here guides and observes the progress of the students. While distributing the work during the execution of the problem the interests of the students must be considered.
• Evaluation:- After the completion of the project, the whole project is reviewed by the teachers and students.
• Recording:- The children maintain a complete record of the project work like how the project was planned, what discussions were made, how duties were assigned, how it was evaluated, etc.

Thus, it is concluded that making hypothesis is not a step of Project Method.
