Topographical Maps (Toposheets):

A Topographical Map is a type of map characterized by large-scale detail and quantitative representation of terrain usually using contour lines.
In other words, Topographical Map is plotted on a sufficiently large scale to enable the individual features shown on the map to be identified on the ground by their shapes and positions.
In India, the Survey of India is responsible for all topographic control, surveys and mapping.
Before adopting National Mapping Policy: 2005, Survey of India had published and printed topographical maps on 1:250,000; 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 scales.
But since adoption of National Mapping Policy: 2005, Survey of India has stopped the production of fresh topographical maps.
