आवाजाची वैशिष्ट्ये पुढीलप्रमाणे आहेत

a) पिच: ध्वनितरंगाची वारंवारता हा निर्देशांक आहे ज्याला कान पिच म्हणून समजतो. जास्त वारंवारतेच्या ध्वनीमध्ये उच्च पिच असतो तर कमी वारंवारतेच्या ध्वनीमध्ये कमी पिच असतो .
b) ध्वनी महत्तत्ता:ध्वनी तरंगाचा आयाम ध्वनी महत्तत्ता किंवा आवाज ठरवतो. जास्त आयाम म्हणजे मोठा आवाज, आणि कमी आयाम म्हणजे लहान आवाज.
