- शीख धर्माला सध्याच्या आकारात बदल घडवून आणण्यात गुरु गोविंद सिंग यांची महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका आहे.
- त्यांनी 1699 मध्ये खालसा या शीख योद्धा समुदायाची स्थापना केली. त्यांनी महत्त्वाचे ग्रंथ लिहिले आणि शीख धर्माची पाच 'क' शी ओळख करुन दिली.
