The correct answer is option 1):(400 V)

Concept:

The output voltage of a step-up chopper is given by:

V\(Vo=\frac{{{V}_{s}}}{1-α}\)

where,

Vo = Output voltage

VS = Input voltage

D = Duty cycle

The duty cycle (D) is

 D =  \(\frac{V_o}{V_{in}}\)

\(\frac{V_o}{V_{in}}=(\frac{T}{T-T_{ON}}) \)

where,

TON = Conducting period or pulse width in seconds

TOFF = Non-conducting period in seconds.

T = Total conducting period = Pulse width.

T = TON + TOFF

Calculation:

Given

VS =  200 V

 D = 50% = \(1\over 2\)

V\(Vo=\frac{{{V}_{s}}}{1-α}\)

= 200 × 2

= 400 V
