WB JEE Counselling 2024: Know Complete Process & Fee Details Here!

WB JEE 2024 Counselling will be scheduled soon. Earlier, The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has completed the Counselling of WB JEE 2022. The candidates must clear the WB JEE exam to be eligible for WBJEE counselling and, thus admissions. The exam provides an opportunity for students wanting to pursue an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Pharmacy Technology, and Architecture courses in colleges in the state of West Bengal. The first round of the WB JEE counselling process 2022 was conducted from 26th August 2022 and 1st September 2022. Following the first round, 2nd round and Mop-up rounds of counselling and admissions have taken place

WB JEE Counselling 2024: Complete Process

After the candidate has given the exam, he/she must wait for the institutes to declare the cutoff for the available courses. Further admission selections will occur via a counselling round, including the following.

Step 1: Online Registration and Fee Payment

The candidates must remember the WB JEE counselling dates and register on the official website well before the counselling. The registration will be successful only if the fee payment is processed. The candidates can use a debit/credit card & e-challan of Allahabad bank to pay the WB JEE counselling fee of Rs 500.

Step 2: Choice Filling and Choice Locking

The candidates will now have to choose courses and colleges per their preference. The candidates must select at least 20 colleges. The steps for choice filling are as follows:

Step 1: Login to your account.

Step 2: Fill in your preference for your desired college and the course.

Step 3:The candidates must lock their choices before the deadline. Failure to do so will keep the candidate from appearing for admission in the ongoing cycle.

Choice Locking:

• Check the WB JEE cutoff before selecting your options to determine your chances of getting into the participating institutions.
• Candidates will not be able to change their selections after they are locked.
• After selecting their options and verifying them, candidates must print them out for future use.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

The official authority will release the seat allotment based on the candidate's preference on the official website. The candidates will be expected to revert back from the portal only to the seat allotted. The candidates must choose among the three available options: 

• Accept and freeze the seat: The candidates must pay the acceptance fee and download the seat allotment letter.
• Accept along with the option for a possible up-gradation to their higher choices.
• Do nothing.

The candidates must note the following:

• In case the candidate chooses the second option, he can upgrade the institute in the second cycle. However, he has to appear at the reporting centre where the letter was initially approved. 
• The authorities at the reporting center will issue a modified letter after the candidate has filled out the form for a change of institute.
• The fee will be refunded to the candidate after successfully completing the procedure.

Step 5: Document Verification

The documents will be verified digitally. The candidates must, however, closely check their contact links for any updates on their documents.

• Successful document verification will be notified via SMS.
• In case one or many documents are rejected, the candidate can log in to his portal and view the reason for the same. 
• In case a document is illegible, the candidates will be informed to re-upload the same within a stipulated time period.

What Options will be Available After the WB JEE Seat Allotment?

After being allotted a seat, the candidates must complete some formalities before finally getting admission to the WB JEE accepting colleges: 

• Reporting at the college: The candidates will have to report at the particular college they are allotted a seat. The candidates must have the allotment letter and other documents while in the college. If a candidate fails to appear for his reporting, his/her candidature may get cancelled.
• Fee Remittance: After multiple rounds of allotments, the candidates must pay the admission fee to confirm their admission. An unsuccessful fee transaction may also lead to the cancellation of the seat and thus invite candidates from the next allotment list for admission to the same seat.

WB JEE Seat Allotment 2024

The candidates who have cleared the exam and secured a seat can find the seat allotment list on the official website. The seats will be allotted based on the merit list and the locked preference filled by the candidates during the counselling. The candidates must remember that every institute has a particular amount of seats reserved for candidates of certain categories. The candidates must be well aware of this information so as to make better decisions while filling up their preferences. The seat reservation for different courses varies from college to college and can be found on the college's official website. Below is an in-depth insight into the step-by-step procedure for checking the seat allotment.

Step 1: Visit the official website.

Step 2: Find the Provisional Seat Allotment link.

Step 3: Enter your Hall Ticket Number and Date of Birth, and click on the submit button.

Step 4: The seat allotment will now be available on the screen, which can be downloaded.

There will be three rounds of seat allotment as follows:

Round 1

• Candidates who get a place in the first merit list will get to choose their course and college; after that, the seat allotment will be released. 
• Candidates have to physically report at the reporting centre. Failing to do so will lead to the cancellation of the admission in any future rounds.
• The candidates must verify their documents and can later opt for changes in their choice.

Round 2

• The candidates who couldn't get seats in the first round will be called for admission in this round. 
• Candidates who have appeared for JEE Mains will also be given an opportunity for admission in this round based on their exam scores. 
• The JEE candidates must attend the counselling and present their JEE scorecard.

Round 3

• The leftover seats will be filled in this round. The selected candidates have to report at the reporting centre for further formalities. 
• The vacant seats under SCPH, STPH, BCAPH, and BCBPH categories will be converted to the OPPH category.

Documents Required for Verification After WB JEE Seat Allotment 2024

The candidates must have with them the following documents during the document verification round of the WB JEE 2023 counselling procedure:

• High school mark sheet
• 10+2 or equivalent mark sheet
• PwD certificate
• Income certificate
• Class 10th admit card/birth certificate for verification of date of birth
• Category certificate (if required)
• Domicile certificate (if required)
• Passport size photographs

WB JEE 2024 Reporting Centres
