The commission will release the UPSC SO/Steno 2022 Application Form. The students can fill the same form from 13th September 2022 until 04th October 2022 on the official website. Check the given mentioned necessary details regarding the SO/Steno registration form:

How to apply for the UPSC SO Steno 2022?

Candidates interested in applying for the UPSC SO Steno 2022 can apply for the post by following the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC then click the link to register UPSC SO / STENO 2022 

Step 2: After successful registration, all candidates will receive another login and password to their registered ID or phone number.

Step 3: Fill in all the necessary and required details as requested in the application, such as name, contact number, email address, parental information, educational level, permanent address, category, etc.

Step 4: After completing the application, the candidate must upload all supporting documents in the specified format.

Step 5: After completing the application, applicants must pay the required registration fee online for each category.

Step 6: After completing the application form and paying the fee, applicants must upload and bring two paper copies of the application form and a payment receipt. Keep a copy in a safe place for future reference. Another paper copy of the application and payment receipt must be sent to the Chief of Division (HoD) / Head of the Commission Office.

UPSC SO Stenographer Selection Process

All the eligible and interested aspirants will have to compulsorily undergo an offline written examination and then a shorthand test in English/ Hindi. All those aspirants who satisfy and qualify for the above stages will have to face an evaluation procedure of the service record. Once this evaluation process is complete, the final merit list will be released by the UPSC and recruitment will be done for shortlisted aspirants. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the official notification for the SO Steno Recruitment 2022. The 2022-23 UPSC SO Steno Recruitment cycle is on-going. The registration window will open on 13th September and close on 4th October 2022, with the examination slated for 10th December. Educational Qualification

The candidate should have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from any recognized university.

Nationality

All candidates taking part in the UPSC SO Steno process must be Indian citizens. Additionally, he should be engaged in any of the central government departments in any profile.

Aspirants who are permanently appointed with a minimum of 4 years of experience as Assistants/ Personal Assistants (Stenos Grade 2) of the Intelligence Bureau.

 

If aspirants are selected via LDCE, then the LCD Exam must be conducted after 5 years from the crucial date.

UPSC SO Stenographer Exam Pattern 2022

The UPSC SO/STENO exam will consist of a total of 3 papers. The nature of all the 3 papers is different. All the required details regarding the exam pattern of Paper-1, Paper-2, and Paper-3 are mentioned below in the tables provided for a better understanding.

Shorthand Test (Qualifying)

In this round, the candidates have to qualify for the shorthand test in Hindi or English at 100 w.p.m. The shorthand test in English/Hindi would comprise a dictation test at the speed of 100 words per minute which the candidate will be required to transcribe in 40/55 minutes. 

Evaluation Procedure

The last section is the evaluation procedure which shall be held for a total of 100 marks. In this round, the marks obtained in the evaluation of record of service (i.e. APARs of the officers available to the Assessment Board at the time of its meeting) will be counted for ranking. 

There shall be a minimum of 40% marks in the evaluation of the record of service. Therefore, such candidates who obtain less than 40% marks in the evaluation of record of service will not be considered for ranking
