The TNPSC Group 2 Certificate Verification Notice is out on the official website for Notification No. 28/2022. The CV Round will be held from 29th May 2025 to 10th June 2025. The TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam for Group IIA Services - Paper II was scheduled for February 8, 2025, while the Mains Exam for Group II Services - Paper II held on February 23, 2025. The selected candidates will be called for Endurance Test. TNPSC Group 2 Exam is conducted for the selection of candidates in various administrative and non-administrative positions in Tamil Nadu state government.

This is a process to ensure merit-based selection to ensure effective public service and governance. The TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2025 will be a state-level examination in Tamil Nadu, India, for recruiting candidates to various Group 2 services such as Sub Registrar, Municipal Commissioner, and more. TNPSC Group 2 Vacancy 2025

The TNPSC will release the vacancies for the 2025 cycle soon after the official release of the notification. However, earlier TNPSC released TNPSC Group 2 vacancy for two types of posts i.e. Group II & group IIA posts. Across both these categories, a total of 2540 vacancies have been released for the 2024 cycle. Candidates who would like to apply for the exam can directly click on the TNPSC Group 2 apply online by logging on to the official website of TNPSC Group 2, after making sure that they meet the Eligibility. The following are the steps that need to be followed by the candidates while applying online:

Step 1: Visit the Official Website of TNPSC

Go to the official website of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). Ensure you have a stable internet connection for a smooth browsing experience.

Step 2: Complete the One Time Registration Process

If you haven’t registered before, complete the One Time Registration process. This process requires you to provide basic personal information to create a profile.

Step 3: Click on "Apply Online" and Fill in the Application Form

Step 8: Print Out Your Application Form

Print out a copy of your completed application form. This hard copy will serve as a record and may be needed for future reference.

TNPSC Group 2 Selection Process 2025 (Expected)

The Combined Civil Services Examination - II (Group II and IIA Services) comprises of two successive stages (i) Common Preliminary Examination (ii) Separate Main examination for Group II and Group IIA Services, except for the post of Forester in Forest Department and TAFCORN for which selection will be made in three successive stages (i) Common Preliminary Examination (ii) Main Examination and (iii) Endurance Test.

Stage 1 - Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary Examination will serve as a screening test only and the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will be declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination & will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The Prelims Exam will be of 300 Marks for both Group II and Group IIA Services. 

Stage 2 - Mains Exam 

The Main Examination for Group II Services will consist of two papers, out of which Paper I will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in paper II alone will be counted for ranking. while the Main Examination for Group IIA Services will also consist of two papers, out of which Paper I will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in paper II alone will be counted for ranking.

Stage 3 - Endurance Test

This Endurance Test will be for the post of Forester only. The Physical Standard Verification and Endurance Test consisting of a walk over 25 km and 16 km to be completed in four hours by male and female / third gender candidates respectively which will be conducted by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest.

Candidates applying for the TNPSC Group 2 Services Recruitment must ensure that they fulfill the required eligibility in terms of their age, qualification, experience, etc. The details of the TNPSC Group 2 Services Eligibility Criteria are given below.

TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus 2025 (Expected)

The TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus 2025 for the Prelims exam will include General Studies (200 questions for 200 marks) and General Tamil (100 questions for 100 marks). The exam duration is 3 hours. In General Studies, questions will be asked from Current Affairs, History of India, Geography of India, Indian Polity & Economy, General Science, Environmental Issues, etc. The questions will be objective type with multiple choices.

The Mains exam syllabus includes two papers – Paper 1 has 100 marks for Tamil Eligibility Test with objective type questions. Paper 2 is for General Studies with 200 questions carrying 1.5 marks each totaling 300 marks. The minimum pay scale offered as part of the TNPSC Group 2 Salary & Job Profile is Rs. 20,600- Rs. 65,900 and maximum pay scale is Rs. 37,400- Rs. 119,500. Allowances such as DA, HRA will also be admissible.
