OPSC ASO New Notification has been released for the 2025 cycle announcing 29 vacancies. The application window to apply for the vacancy is open from 9th May 2025 to 9th June 2025 till 5:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for the candidates looking for a stable Government Job in the state of Odisha. Earlier, OPSC had released the Marks for skill test which was held on 4th December 2022. the qualifying for SEBE & UR is 40% and for ST&SC is 30% for each subject. This is for the 2022 cycle.. As per the previous year's 2022 recruitment cycle, there were 796 vacancies released for OPSC ASO. The OPSC ASO 2025 aims to recruit candidates in Group-B of Odisha Secretariat Services under the Home Department of the Odisha Government.

OPSC ASO Selection Process 2025
Based on the previous year’s notification, there are mainly two stages that the candidates had to clear to be selected for the post of Assistant Section Officer by OPSC as per the recruitment pattern.
Stage 1: OPSC ASO Written Examination (MCQs)
Stage I of the OPSC ASO selection process was the written examination. This stage was divided into 3 exams, i.e. Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III, which tested candidates' knowledge across general awareness, reasoning, mental ability, mathematics, English, and Odia languages.
Stage 2: OPSC ASO Skill Test in Computer Applications (Practical)
This is the final stage in the OPSC ASO Recruitment Selection Process 2023. All the candidates shortlisted in the written examination would be called for the skill test. In this stage, candidates would be tested on their knowledge of computer applications. This stage is qualifying in nature, and one must secure 40% of the total marks in the skill test to qualify.
Note: The commission shall be competent to fix the qualifying marks for any or all the examination subjects.

OPSC ASO Eligibility Criteria 2025
The candidate must ensure that he/she fulfils the OPSC ASO Eligibility Criteria set by the commission. If the candidate does not meet any of the eligibility criteria, his/her application will be summarily rejected by the OPSC, and application fees will neither be refunded nor adjusted. As per the last recruitment notification, there are two heads under the eligibility criteria for the OPSC ASO recruitment 2025.
OPSC ASO Age Limit
The candidate is expected to be at least 21 years and not more than 32 years of age to qualify for the OPSC ASO Exam 2025. The age relaxation for candidates in different categories would be as per Government Rules prescribed for the purpose.
OPSC ASO Educational Qualifications
The candidate is expected to possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or any such equivalent qualification.

- The candidate must be a citizen of India.

OPSC ASO Exam Pattern 2025
The OPSC ASO Exam Pattern 2025 is expected to consist of three stages, i.e. Written Examination, Verification Round, and Skill Test in Computer Application (practical) as per the latest recruitment pattern.
- Paper I, Paper II & Paper III were objective type (multiple choice questions) and will be set in the English language only except for the language paper, which will be set in Odia language. The written test of all three papers will be of 400 marks.
- Paper IV would be a subjective type of Exam
- There will be 0.25 negative marks in the written examination and skill test for every wrong answer
- Before the skill test round and after the written examination, all the candidates who cleared the written examination would have to submit the self-attested copy of all the documents mentioned on the website for certificate verification.
