What is Archenteron?
In the course of animal embryonic development, a tube-like structure known as the archenteron is formed during a phase called gastrulation. This structure essentially serves as the preliminary gut of the embryo. The formation of the archenteron involves the endodermal and mesodermal cells invaginating into the blastocoel, which subsequently forms a vegetal plate that extends through the blastocoel, thereby elongating the archenteron. The archenteron's open end is referred to as the blastopore, which can later evolve into the mouth or anus of the embryo.
What is Blastocoel?
The blastocoel, on the other hand, is a cavity filled with fluid that comes into being during the blastulation stage of embryonic development, resulting in the formation of the blastula. It is the first cellular cavity to form as the embryo grows. The zygote undergoes mitotic division to produce a structure of 16-32 cells, which plays a crucial role in the zygote's development.
