1) In a row of 81 students facing north, Sima is 12th from the right end.

2) Manju is 9th to the left of Sima.

Total students = 81

Sima's rank from the right end = 12th

Manju's rank from the right end = 12 + 9 → 21^st

Manju's rank from the left end = Total students - Manju's rank from the right end + 1

= 81 - 21 + 1

= 61

Hence, "Option 1" is the correct answer.
