Question
Download Solution PDFA sum of ₹14460 is divided among A, B, C and D such that the ratio of share of A and B is 3 : 5, that of B and C is 6 : 7 and that of C and D is 14 : 15. What is the difference between the shares of A and C?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Total sum = 14460
A : B = 3 : 5
B : C = 6 : 7
C : D = 14 : 15
Concept used:
When we do anything in ratio one part, same pattern follow in other part
Calculation:
First we do same ratio of B and C in both given ratio
A : B = (3 : 5) × 12/5
B : C = 6 × 2 : 7 × 2
C : D = 14 : 15
A : B : C : D = 36/5 : 12 : 14 : 15 = 36 : 60 : 70 : 75
Total = (36 + 60 + 70 + 75) = 241
Difference between the shares of A and C = 70 - 36 = 34
according to question,
Total share = 14460
∴ share of B = 14460 × 34/241 = 60 × 34 = 2040
