A person was killed and several others were injured after a man rammed his car into a crowd in Western Germany on March 3. The police took the suspect into custody.
The police said a driver drove into a group of people. The incident took place in Paradeplatz, a pedestrianized street.
The Manheim police urged people to avoid Mannheim City Centre due to the deployment of heavy police personnel. Police spokesperson Stephan Wilhelm said one suspect has been arrested.
According to news agency dpa, Mannheim University Hospital has been alerted to handle disaster and emergency situations. Eight trauma teams were prepared to meet the critical situation.
