Social Media was abuzz after the rivalry speculations between the newly appointed India Test captain, Shubman Gill, and Hardik Pandya. The speculations started revolving around the internet after the former did not shake hands with the latter’s winning of the toss in the IPL 2025 eliminator at Chandigarh. Hardik Pandya, who was also seen a bit ‘Aggressive’ after celebrating Gill’s wicket, had added fuel to the fire. But the Indian captain has removed all the speculations by posting a story on his Instagram account stating his friendship with Pandya is deeply rooted, and people should not believe everything that they see on the internet.
“Nothing but love (Don’t believe everything you see on the internet) @hardikpandya93.” Shubman Gill posted on his Instagram.

Mumbai Indians have qualified for the second qualifiers and will face the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Mumbai defeated Gujarat by 20 runs in a nail-biting contest. Rohit Sharma’s 81 runs helped Mumbai to reach a mammoth total of 228 runs, which the Gujarat batters fell short of. Shubman Gill was sent back to the hut early and could create an impact with the bat. Meanwhile, Sai Sudarshan batted with an intent to take his team to victory, but eventually, he had to go back to the pavilion.
Washington Sundar gave a good hand with the bat and was nearing a potential half-century. Mumbai was in desperate need of a breakthrough as Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar were closing in on the run chase. Pandya handed the bowl to his ace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, and Bumrah delivered what he was called for. His sneaky yorker got Washington bowled, and Mumbai got the breakthrough they needed. Now, the winner of the second qualifier will face the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the finals for the IPL 2025 title. If Mumbai wins this season, this will be the 6th time they will lift the trophy.
