The former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, fondly known as MS Dhoni is honoured by ICC to induct him in the ICC Hall of Fame yesterday. The “Captain Cool” was among 7 seven names to get this prestigious honour.
By this, the former wicket-keeper batter became the 11th Indian to enter into this elite list. On being inducted in the club, the legend was thrilled and was honoured to be named alongside other legends.
“It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world. To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever,” said Dhoni in a media release by the ICC.

Dhoni’s International Career
Dhoni made his international debut on 23rd December during an ODI against Bangladesh. He got off to a disastrous start to his career, having been run out on his very first delivery, but things changed afterward and he went on to smash a breathtaking 148 in his fifth game against Pakistan in Visakhapatnam.
Dhoni was also handed over the leadership of the team in no time during the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and took Indian cricket to the world title.
He also ended the nation’s 28-year-long wait for an ODI World Cup with a remarkable innings of 91* (79) in the final against Sri Lanka in 2011. Under Dhoni’s reign, India were also crowned the Champions Trophy winners in 2013, making him the first and only captain to win all ICC trophies.
