India is celebrating the success of Operation Sindoor carried out on May 7. With new revelations emerging each day, the operation has given people to take even greater prude in our armed forces. While it already gave a message of women leading the charge in the Operation, with Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh’s briefing post Ops Sindoor. Now, a recent update which highlights the involvement of the Border Security Force (BSF) women soldiers have made everyone proud.
The women soldiers of BSF also gave a befitting reply to enemies located in Pakistan. They showered shells and bullets on enemy. Pakistan had freaked out when Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack by the Indian Armed Forces. BSF destroyed Pakistani posts and the launching pads of the terrorists. The launch pads of the terrorists were destroyed in Sialkotand Shakargarh of Pakistan in which many terrorists were killed.
During Operation Sindoor in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, BSF women soldiers led by Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari displayed amazing courage and bravery. The woman soldiers guarded several forward posts continuously for three days and caused heavy damage to enemy.
How Did They Defend Forward Posts?
The bravery of BSF women soldiers during Operation Sindoor is lauded by everyone and highly discussed in the country. Under the leadership of Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari, women soldiers fought fiercely against the enemy. Eight female BSF soldiers along with Neha Bhandari protected several forward posts in Akhnoor. They fired heavily on Pakistani posts and forced them to retreat. Talking about their involvement, Neha said that this was a golden opportunity for them and they did not let it go.
Highlighting their role, BSF IG Jammu Shashank Anand said, “BSF’s women personnel fought on forward duty posts during Operation Sindoor. Our brave women personnel, Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari commanded a forward post, Constable Manjit Kaur, Constable Malkit Kaur, Constable Jyoti, Constable Sampa and Constable Swapna and others fought on forward posts against Pakistan during this operation.”
While, the valour displayed by the Indian Armed forces shook Pakistan, the BSF defeated Pakistan Rangers at the border. Bullets kept firing and mortars were thrown on the border of Jammu and Kashmir in the 3-day conflict. The women contingent of BSF played a very important role, by responding to Pakistan’s attack from the frontline. They not only foiled infiltration of terrorists, but also retaliated and destroyed some enemy posts on their own.
