Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium got a bomb threat email, mentioning the success of Operation Sindoor, according to an alert from the Rajasthan State Sports Council.
Authorities are now investigating the threat. The email mentioned Operation Sindoor and said, “To celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, we will carry out a bomb blast at your stadium.” The message ended with the words, “Save everyone if you can.”
The threat arrived by email at around 9:13 AM, saying there would be an explosion at the stadium.
This comes a day after the armed forces killed about 100 terrorists at nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Operation Sindoor
In retaliation to Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, India launched Operation Sindoor, a series of targeted military strikes. With this operation, India signalled its tough stance against cross-border terrorism. Under the operation, India destroyed terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).
India’s strikes have escalated tensions between the two nations, causing significant disruptions, particularly in northern India. The name, “Operation Sindoor” is believed to represent national grief and determination, specifically honouring the memory of the young couples who were attacked.
Officials reiterated India’s firm stance, and said, “We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable.”
