Good News! After 13-Year Delay, FNG Expressway Gets Fresh Push As Noida And PWD Gear Up For New Talks – Details Inside

After years of setbacks and delays, the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway project is finally gaining fresh momentum.

The long-stalled FNG (Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad) expressway project, which has remained stagnant for 13 years and delayed intercity connectivity, may soon see the light of day in terms of progress, with the Noida Authority last year bringing the Public Works Department (PWD) back for another meeting on these pending issues.

The FNG expressway is 56 kilometres long, with 23 kilometres belonging to Noida alone while the remaining stretch is owned by Faridabad and Ghaziabad. In discussions this past year, both the Noida Authority and PWD expressed their respective willingness to reopen and amend the implementation plan.

Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway New DPR

The new Detailed Project Report (DPR) consists of three proposed alignments for the unfinished segment. The PWD officer confirmed that the survey for the proposed alignments is done and once the department headquarters approves, the final routing will be selected.

Six-Lane Bridge Over Yamuna River Between Noida And Faridabad

The renewed plan has an important feature, a six-lane bridge traversing over Yamuna river between Noida and Faridabad. The total bridge span is around 600 meters length and will be constructed between Sector 168 and Sector 167A. The cost estimate of the bridge construction is around Rs 200 crore and the expenditure will be shared by the governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Noida: Elevated Road And 2 Underpasses Added For FNG Route

Infrastructure development is underway in Noida with the purchase of one elevated road and two underpasses for the FNG route. The building plans include a 3.68 km underpass (approximately Rs 30.29 crore), a 650-metre elevated road (approximately Rs 633 crore) and an approach road of 75 metres wide.

Project Will Benefit More Than 30 Sectors

The project will benefit more than 30 sectors and more than 1,000 industries. Patch roads are being developed to connect all the bridges and underpasses that will provide further connectivity to Greater Noida West and Greater Faridabad. Officials are optimistic that this long-awaited project will be implemented and respond to the ongoing traffic issues across NCR.
