The celebration of Royal Challengers Banglore’s win turned into a tragedy after a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium resulted in 11 deaths. Thousands of fans gathered outside the stadium to catch a glimpse of RCB players after their big win at IPL 2025. However, the police found it difficult to handle the massive crowd. Many celebrities reacted to this tragedy and sent their condolences to the families of the victims.
Kamal Haasan shared his grief on this tragic incident. He wrote on X, “Heart wrenching tragedy in Bangalore. Deeply distressed and my heart reaches out to the families of the victims in this moment of grief. May the injured recover soon.”

Anushka Sharma shared RCB’s official statement on her Instagram page. The statement read, “We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team’s arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us.”
It added, “RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extends our heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our program, and followed, the guidance and advice of the local administration. We urge all our supporters to please stay safe.”
Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka also issued a statement after this shocking incident and also met the families of the victims. He wrote on X, “We are heartbroken by this tragic incident. This should have never happened. We did not anticipate such an overwhelming crowd – while the stadium holds 35,000, over 3 lakh people had gathered. To the families who have lost loved ones – we extend our deepest condolences. Words are not enough, but we stand with you in your grief. We’re sorry for this incident. Your pain is ours. We stand with our people – in this sorrow.”

Meanwhile, after winning IPL 2025, Virat Kohli thanked fans for their constant love and support. He said, “This win is as much for the fans as it is for the team. It’s been 18 long years. I’ve given this team my youth, my prime, my experience. Every single season, I’ve walked out with a heart full of hope and a mind obsessed with victory. To finally have this moment… it’s beyond belief.”

This is the first win of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. The team earlier entered the IPL final in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
