Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have officially chosen Ranveer Singh to play the lead role in Don 3. While some fans were a bit in a dicey situation regarding this shift from Shah Rukh Khan to Ranveer Singh, many were excited to see Ranveer bring his own style to the iconic character.
The announcement video, released in 2023, created quite a buzz on social media.
Delays Finally Over, Don 3 Shoot Starts Soon
Originally this film should started filming last year only but due to some reasons it got delayed. One of the main reasons was Farhan Akhtar’s ongoing commitment to his other film, 120 Bahadur. He wanted to complete this project before moving on to Don 3. Now, with 120 Bahadur nearing completion, the long wait for Don 3 is almost over.
Ranveer & Vikrant Reunite With A Twist
A close source revealed, “Farhan is wrapping up 120 Bahadur, and Ranveer has also finished a major chunk of Dhurandar. They are now ready to kick off Don 3. The first schedule is planned for this month.” Vikrant Massey, playing the antagonist, will also be part of this shoot. However, it is not confirmed if the female lead will join the first schedule.
While Ranveer and Vikrant are confirmed, the female lead is yet to be finalised. Names like Kriti Sanon and Sharvari are being considered, but nothing is official yet.
What’s Next For Vikrant Massey?
Interestingly, Vikrant’s schedule for Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 depends on Don 3. If filming had been delayed further, Dostana 2 was expected to start this month.
However, with Don 3 moving forward, Dostana 2 is now likely to begin next year.
