The trailer of Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 was released on April 8. In the first film, Ileana D’Cruz played Ajay’s wife, but in the sequel, Vaani Kapoor has taken her place.
Raid 2 is the sequel to Ajay Devgn’s hit film Raid, which was released in 2018. The first part was based on a real Income Tax raid from the 1980s and was praised by both critics and the audience.
Along with Ajay Devgn, the first film also starred Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D’Cruz in important roles.
Raid 2 is set to release in theatres on May 1, 2025.
At the trailer launch event, Ajay devgn talked about why the cast was changed for the sequel. Vaani Kapoor also shred her thoughts and clearly said that there is no rivalry between her and Ileana D’Cruz. She said they get along well and there is no reason for any jealousy.

When asked about, is character having a ‘new wife’ in the sequel, Ajay Devgn explained that it’s normal for characters to change in films.
“You see it in a lot of Hollywood films as well. Still, Sean Connery is not the only James Bond. It’s the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in.”
Vaani Kapoor also shared her thoughts on replacing Ileana and whether she felt any pressure.
“No jealousy with the previous one. We share a great equation off-screen. You just try to play your part in the most authentic manner and follow the brief of the director and writer. This film showcases a different side of me. It felt new and refreshing.”

Raid 2 is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and is the sequel to the 2018 film Raid. The movie stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. The story continues with IRS officer Amay Patnaik (played by Ajay Devgn) as he takes on another big financial crime.
