UGC NET West Bengal: On Tuesday, there will be a ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ protest against the RG tax scandal, which coincides with the UGC NET exam. To ensure that NET candidates can reach their exam centers without problems, the state police will be active. They will deploy enough police officers on the roads to help candidates get to their centers smoothly. The state police confirmed this on social media on Sunday.

The police said, “We are concerned that many NET candidates might have trouble getting to their exam centers because of this protest. We will have plenty of police officers on the roads to help candidates. If you face any problems, ask the police for assistance. We will make sure candidates reach their exam centers safely and easily.”

UGC NET Exam Rescheduled To August 27 Due To Holiday

The UGC NET exam, originally held on June 18, was canceled the next day due to concerns about fairness. The exams have been rescheduled between August 21 and September 4. Because of the Janmashtami holiday on August 26, the exam scheduled for that day will now be on August 27 (Tuesday).

Police Assure Support For NET Candidates Amid ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ Protest

On the same day, an organization called ‘West Bengal Chhatra Samaj’ will hold a ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ protest against the RG tax case. The state police has announced on social media that they will support NET exam candidates to ensure they can reach their exam centers.

On Tuesday, a case was filed in the High Court to halt the Nabanna operation. However, the court did not intervene. The state said that the organizers did not get police permission for the event. The state counsel also informed the court about concerns regarding the UGC NET exam.

The state worried that opposition groups might join the protest and cause unrest. Despite these concerns, the High Court decided not to interfere with the event.
