In a shocking crime of passion, a 36-year-old man was brutally murdered in the Bengali Pura neighbourhood of Antop Hill, allegedly by his wife and her lover. The victim has been identified as Ismail Ali Jamal Ali Shaikh (36). The police from Antop Hill have arrested his wife, Sumaya Shaikh (26). The husband’s lover, Jabbar Shaikh has also been arrested for the murder.
Police officials reportedly said that Ismail found out about his wife and Jabbar’s extramarital affair, which led to an argument on Monday night between the couple. At approximately 3 am, Sumaya invited Jabbar to their residence during the fight. In a premeditated manner, she reportedly restrained Ismail’s legs while Jabbar stabbed Ismail multiple times in the neck with a sharp weapon. Thereafter, Sumaya stabbed Ismail with a kitchen knife. Police added.
After the murder, Sumaya pulled her husband’s bloodied body out of the home and tried to trick police, saying that someone else killed him. However, her own statements during questioning raised suspicions, and she was arrested. Jabbar, a jeweler by trade, fled to avoid capture but was later found and took custody.
The murder weapon, a knife Jabbar used, has been found. A forensic team has been to the location to collect evidence, an FIR has been filed at Antop Hill Police Station, and both accused are in police custody. The investigation continues.
