New Delhi: As many as 9 police personnel were injured in a stone pelting incident took place in a village of Salumbar district in Rajasthan.
The incident took place as the police was trying to take custody of a man caught by locals unde suspicion of stealing goats, reported the news agency PTI.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Bacchu Lal of the local Semari police station was among those policemen who were injured in the incident of stone pelting, said the PTI report.
Bacchu Lal also alleged that the situation got out of the hands and the angry mob also vandalised police vehicles. After which, the police has registered a case while also identified the accused.
He added that those who were iinjured in the incident were rushed to a hospital in Semari for treatment.
What led to Stone Pelting?
The police said that locals in Intali village noticed five men stealing goats and then pursued them. However, four of the accused fled but the villagers caught one of them who was identified as Kamlesh Meena.
After nabbing the accused, villaged thrashed him and locked him up in the Panchayat office. Following which, the police was informed who went down the Panchayat office for getting custody of Meena.
The brawl broke out soon after the police initiated taking custody of the man.
