RBI Mandates Banks To adopt ‘Bank.in’
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set a deadline of October 31, 2025, for all banks to switch their digital services to the ‘Bank.in’ domain. The goal of this move is to enhance the security of online banking services in India. By using a standardized domain, the RBI aims to make digital banking safer and easier for users. This change will help reduce confusion among consumers and build greater trust in online transactions.
Why?
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is moving to a single, unified website domain for online bankingThe RBI aims to make digital banking more secure and consistent for users with this step. It comes in response to the rising cyber threats and online scams. By switching to a common domain, the RBI seeks to protect customers and strengthen trust in digital transactions. Banks will need to upgrade their IT systems to comply with the new guidelines as part of this move. We expect this change to provide everyone with a smoother and safer online banking experience.
